All local COC meets offer a course for beginners or newcomers unless otherwise noted.

Starting Times: Local COC events have a start window from 10:00 a.m. to noon unless otherwise noted. Most larger events have pre-assigned start times for competitive classes, but also allow recreational starts.

Course Closure: Course markers are normally picked up beginning at 1:30 p.m., so plan your arrival time accordingly.

Electronic Punching: All COC events use electronic punching unless otherwise noted.

Whistle: All participants must carry a whistle while on a course at a COC event.

WIOL Participants
School-age children who wish to participate in WIOL (Washington Interscholastic Orienteering League) events are strongly encouraged to pre-register by mail. Please download and mail in a waiver/registration form from the WIOL website.
